Toolpaper

Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

The short version

Toolpaper is a set of client-side developer tools. Your input (including anything you paste into a converter) never leaves your browser: every conversion runs on your device. There are no accounts and no ads. Optional analytics cookies are off unless you explicitly accept them.

What this site stores on your device

The site keeps a small set of preferences in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device:

  • toolpaper.theme — your light/dark theme choice.
  • toolpaper.cleanup.prefs.v1 — your request-cleanup preferences.
  • tp_ga_consent — your cookie choice, so the site does not ask on every visit.

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you accept analytics cookies, the site collects anonymous visit statistics: pages viewed, approximate region (derived from IP, which is not stored), device type, and referral source. These cookies are set only after you accept. If you reject or ignore the banner, analytics stays off and no analytics cookies are set — the default is “denied”.

What we do not collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, or accounts. We do not read, transmit, or store the contents of anything you paste into a converter or the request runner. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data with anyone.

Third parties

Only two categories of service touch the site: our hosting provider, which serves the pages you request, and — only if you accept analytics cookies — our analytics provider, which processes the anonymous visit statistics described above. Neither receives your tool input.

Data retention

Device preferences stay in your browser until you clear them. Anonymous analytics data (if you opted in) is retained in aggregate form for up to 14 months and is not linked to you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, and to grievance redressal. Because this site collects so little, these rights usually mean the optional analytics data described above. To exercise any of them, email sia@manavdev.site; requests are answered within 30 days.

Children

Toolpaper is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

How to change your cookie choice

Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page. It clears your saved choice and shows the cookie banner again, so you can accept or reject analytics cookies at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date at the top changes with it. Significant changes will be called out on the site.
